The No Scrubs AI video recasts about 15 seconds of TLC's 1999 "No Scrubs" music video, from the silver elevator and the finger-wag close-ups to the trio in front of the chrome letters, with one to three of your photos. Here it comes out 9:16 or 16:9, 10 or 15 seconds, with the chorus already on the MP4, from 15 credits (about $0.56). Free accounts get a moving watermark until their first purchase.

480p is fine for a group chat. For a TikTok or Reels post, 720p looks sharper on a phone; 1080p is on Seedance 2.0 and 2.5.
The finished MP4 keeps the No Scrubs chorus in time with the cuts. Same price with one, two or three photos and either set.
It is a short AI remake of TLC's "No Scrubs" music video (1999, directed by Hype Williams) with your face, or your friends' faces, in place of the trio. The routine stays: one dancer rises up a silver elevator shaft, two close-ups point and wag a finger at the camera, the three dance in a row in front of giant chrome letters, and an overhead shot looks down at the lead. People also call it the No Scrubs AI trend or the scrubs TLC AI video.
The earliest AI version we found was posted on TikTok on 17 October 2026; tutorials and template versions spread within days. This page is about the part most guides skip: the sound. Your MP4 already carries the chorus in time with the cuts, and the sections below show when to keep that audio and when to swap it for the in-app sound so your post is not muted.

Three versions of the same routine and the same chorus, in three frames. Press play with the sound on: the cuts land on the beat, and that timing is what your MP4 keeps.
Vertical 9:16 · a lead in a white T-shirt
15 s with the chorus. The frame follows the lead, so the side dancers sit at the edges in the group shots. It opens with a short pose before the elevator.
Widescreen 16:9 · three dancers in black and silver
15 s with the chorus: the elevator, both close-ups, the trio in front of the letters and the overhead shot, with the whole set in view.
Wide 4:3 · a lead in a white sci-fi costume
15 s with the chorus. Outfits come from the photos, so a costume in the photo is the costume in the video.
The routine has six beats. The 10 s video ends just as the overhead shot begins; the 15 s video plays all of it. Both are cut to the same stretch of the chorus, so the finger wag and the first group move land on the same beats either way.
| Time | Shot | Who is on screen | In the 10 s video? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–1.5 s | A small platform rises up a narrow silver shaft toward the camera | Photo 1 (the lead) | Yes |
| 1.5–2.3 s | Close-up, leaning in and pointing at the lens | Photo 2 (left dancer) | Yes |
| 2.3–4 s | Close-up, mouthing the words and wagging a finger | Photo 1 | Yes |
| 4–9.7 s | The three in a row in front of the letters, filmed from low angles: hip sways, knee bends, arm rolls | Photo 2 left, Photo 1 middle, Photo 3 right | Yes |
| 9.7–11.5 s | Overhead shot looking straight down, arms stretched to the two walls | Photo 1 | Only its first moment |
| 11.5–15 s | The trio again: bigger arm swings, a shoulder shimmy, a hip pop, ending on the lens | All three | No (15 s only) |
The audio is the chorus the routine is cut to, with a quarter-second fade at the very end so neither length stops on a click. Mouths move in the close-ups and the overhead shot, but they are not matched word for word to the lyrics.
No filming, editing or prompt writing. Four steps, about three to six minutes of waiting, and the download is ready to post.
Photo 1 is the lead. Add Photo 2 and Photo 3 for friends, or leave them empty and Photo 1 plays those places too. One person per photo, face clear, waist-up or full body.
Keep the silver set with the chrome letters or upload a photo of your own place. Choose 9:16 for TikTok and Reels or 16:9 for YouTube and the widescreen look.
10 s ends before the overhead shot; 15 s is the whole routine. The price under the button updates with every change and is the exact amount charged.
Download the MP4 with the chorus on it. Post it as it is, or mute it and add the No Scrubs sound in the app; the next section explains which to pick.
| Photos | Lead (middle, elevator, overhead) | Left dancer (first close-up) | Right dancer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 photo | Photo 1 | Photo 1 | Photo 1 |
| 2 photos | Photo 1 | Photo 2 | Photo 1 |
| 3 photos | Photo 1 | Photo 2 | Photo 3 |
Whoever should get the most screen time goes in Photo 1: the lead has the elevator entrance, the second close-up and the overhead shot. Friends in different cities can each send one photo; nobody has to be in the same room.
Your MP4 already plays the chorus, which is all you need for a group chat or a Story. On TikTok and Instagram it is usually better to mute the file and add the song from the app's own music library: the platform licenses that library, the post joins the trend's sound page, and a matched upload is less likely to be muted later.
| Option | Best for | How | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keep the chorus in the file | Group chats, Stories, sending to friends, a draft you want to check | Upload the MP4 as it is | A public post can be matched to the recording and muted later, and it will not appear under the official sound |
| Mute it and add "No Scrubs" in the app | TikTok and Reels posts that should join the trend | In the editor set the original sound to 0, add the song from the music library and drag it so the chorus starts with the first close-up at 1.5 s | Both tracks playing at once if the original volume stays up |
| Mute it and use cleared audio | Business and brand accounts | Set the original sound to 0 and add a track from the platform's commercial library or a voice-over | Business accounts usually cannot use the song; the video loses some of its hook |
Lining up by ear: the first close-up (Photo 2 pointing at the lens) starts at 1.5 s, and the first wide group shot at 4 s. If the song you added starts at the top of the track, trim its start until the finger wag and the first group move land on the beat.
Most problems with the sound happen after posting, not in the video itself. These are the usual ones and what to do about each.
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Sound removed" or a silent post after a few hours | The audio in your file was matched to the recording | Delete it, re-post with the original sound at 0 and the song added from the app's library |
| "This sound isn't available" when adding the song | Business accounts only get a commercial music library | Post from a personal or creator account, or use cleared audio for brand posts |
| Echo, or two copies of the chorus | The file's audio and the added song both play | Set the original sound volume to 0 before posting |
| The finger wag is off the beat | The added song starts at a different point of the track | Trim the song's start so the chorus begins with the first close-up at 1.5 s |
| A copyright claim on YouTube | Rights holders can claim uploads that carry their recording | A claim usually means the rights holder takes the ad revenue; for Shorts, add the song from YouTube's own audio library instead |
"No Scrubs" is a copyrighted song and recording. A personal post that uses the platform's own music library is the normal way to use it; that is what the library is licensed for. Paid ads and brand posts are different: they need a license from the rights holders, and written consent from everyone shown. This site is not affiliated with TLC or their labels, and buying credits gives you no music rights.

A "scrub" is late-1990s slang for a man with no money, no plans and no manners who still expects attention. In "No Scrubs", TLC turn him down: the verses describe a guy who talks big but lives off others and calls out from the passenger side of a friend's car, and the chorus refuses to give him their number.
No Scrubs the song came out on 2 February 1999 as the lead single from TLC's third album, FanMail, with Chilli singing lead. It was written by Kandi Burruss, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and producer Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs, spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won two Grammys in 2000. Hype Williams directed the music video, which put the trio on a glossy silver spaceship set.
That is why the finger wag carries the AI trend: it is the "no" of the chorus, aimed at whoever is watching. The silver look makes a No Scrubs AI video recognisable in the first second, and the chorus does the rest.

It makes one fixed routine well. These are the things it does not do, so you can decide before spending credits.
Each photo should show one person or pet. A group photo is not split into three dancers, and there is never a fourth person on screen.
Mouths move in the close-ups, but they are not matched to the lyrics. Fixing that would need a separate lip-sync tool.
There are no lyrics or titles burned in. Add captions in TikTok or Instagram, where viewers can also turn them off.
The default 480p is the cheapest. For a public post choose 720p, or 1080p on Seedance 2.0 or 2.5; fast group moves stay soft at any size.
Clothes, glasses and hair come from each photo. For a Y2K or Halloween look, wear it in the photo; the video will not dress you.
Every frame is newly generated from the routine. It cannot put you into the actual 1999 video, and faces can drift on fast turns, especially on Mini.

Yes. Upload Photo 1 and Photo 2 and leave Photo 3 empty: Photo 1 also fills the right-hand place, like a twin. No stranger is invented. If you would rather have a third look, upload another photo of either of you in a different outfit as Photo 3.
Yes. With one photo you appear three times: the lead, the left dancer and the right dancer. For three different outfits, upload three photos of yourself; each version gets its own place and close-up.
Not for $0: sign-up is free, but making a video needs credits. The one-time $5 pack (24 credits) covers one full 15 s video at 480p (23 credits), with no subscription. Free accounts get a moving watermark; any purchase switches your videos, earlier ones included, to the clean original.
Yes, the downloaded MP4 already plays the No Scrubs chorus, lined up with the elevator, the close-ups and the group moves. For a public TikTok or Reels post, mute the file and add the song from the app's library so the post joins the trend's sound and is less likely to be muted.
Each photo is the only source for that dancer's face, hair and clothes, but similar-looking photos can still blend on fast cuts. Use clear, front-facing photos with different outfits, put the most important face in Photo 1, and try Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0, which hold faces better than Mini.
Yes. Any place can be a pet: it stays a real animal with its own fur and markings, dances upright on its hind legs and points with a front paw. Drawn or anime characters also work, but they may come out more lifelike than the drawing.
No. The motion follows the routine, but every frame is generated new from your photos and the set, so there is no pasted-on face. To watch the original No Scrubs music video, see TLC's official upload linked in the sources above.
One to three photos, the chorus on the file, ready to post in a few minutes.
